At the Bank
Opening an Account เปิดบัญชี:
ลูกค้า: “I would like to open an account” ผมต้องการเปิดบัญชีครับ
เจ้าหน้าที่: “How much will your opening deposit be?” ไม่ทราบว่าต้องการเปิดเท่าไหร่คะ?
ลูกค้า: “I have $200” 200 ดอลลาร์ครับ
ชื่อบัญชีธนาคารจะแบ่งตามระดับของบริการหรือตามลักษณะเฉพาะ โดยทั่วไปก็จะเป็น
“current account” บัญชีเดินสะพัด ซึ่งจะเป็นบัญชีที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการทำธุรกรรมด้านการเงินรายวัน
“My dad is a prestige banker.” พ่อของฉันเป็นนายธนาคาร หรือ
'I want to open an achiever account with my first pay check.' ผมอยากเปิดบัญชี achiever account ด้วยเงินเดือนเดือนแรกของผม
“I gave notice for my 30-day account because I want to buy a car next month”.
ผมแจ้งความเคลื่อนไหวทางบัญชี 30 วันเพราะเดือนหน้าผมจะซื้อรถ
“I love my call account because I can manage my money by calling the bank”.
ฉันชอบการทำธุรกรรมทางโทรศัพท์เพราะฉันแค่โทรถึงธนาคารก็เรียบร้อยแล้ว
“I placed my savings on fixed deposit to earn higher interest”.
ผมเปิดบัญชีเงินฝากประจำเพราะได้รับดอกเบี้ยสูงกว่า
Foreign Exchange ('Forex') แลกเปลี่ยนเงินตรา:
คุณอาจจะถามว่า: “What is the Dollars/Yen exchange rate?”
อัตราค่าแลกเปลี่ยนระหว่างเงินดอลลาร์กับเงินเยนอยู่ที่เท่าไหร่? หรือ
“How many Yen would I receive for US$500?” เงิน 500 ดอลลาร์สหรัฐฯแลกเป็นเงินเยนได้เท่าไหร่?
“What commission do you charge to exchange currency?” ถ้าจะแลกเงินคุณคิดค่าคอมฯเท่าไหร่?
หรือ “I'd like to purchase travelers cheques”. ผมต้องการซื้อทราเวลเลอร์เช็คครับ
At the Post offices

I’d like to send this letter by special delivery. ฉันต้องการส่งจดหมายแบบด่วนพิเศษ (ems)
